The purpose for this conceptual website is to display all of our creations from english and digital media on this website that we learned to code into our websites during digital media. It’s basically one big project that collaboratively displays everything that we have learned her at Freestyle Academy. In design we were required to complete a conceptual art photo to represent our concepts statement that we wrote out poems about in English. We then had to display them on this conceptual website to show all of our work and how they are all connected with one another. The whole class made an effort to talk to one another for developing new ideas and helping one another out during the process of making our conceptual websites, if we needed some extra help. We also as a class took the time to collaborate with one another on some music tracks that required instruments. So in a way we’re just one big team that helps one another to accomplish our individual goals. In the next section you will be able to view an array of different styles of poems that I have made in English class. In this unit alone I was able to learn a variety of different skills and lessons that have been affected my mentality and development as an artist. I think it’s rewarding visually and auditorily seeing the works I have created. It’s also super obvious just by looking at someone’s work here on the amount of effort each and every student has put into their projects. The only thing that has a purpose for an actual explanation is the expository essay itself. The assignment was based on the different stylings of essay writing that we reviewed and analyzed in class. The essential meaning of the overall paper is to explain a passion. We created these essays in english to give readers a better sense of the biggest to the smallest things we are most passionate about.

Free Write Poem- My free write poem is about my about my inner thoughts on growing up in my generation. How sometimes coming of age can be so isolating and overwhelming it’s hard to comprehend my surroundings sometimes.

Spoken word poem- Spoken word poems were written to be performed. In English class we watched a variety of different spoken word poems that usually have topics that are controversial or highly emotionally provoking, or comical that hit the audience's hard due to it coming from a deep part of them. My spoken word poem is about heartbreak and how the experience can seem unjust and discombobulating when it just happens.

Ekphrastic poem-An Ekphrastic poem is a descriptive type of poetry that emulates a piece of visual art work. In my Ekphrastic poem is about a piece I saw on our SFMOMA trip called “In Front of the Night Club”. I chose this piece of art because the vibrant colors and the amount of character it had with the different people facial expressions.

This haiku section was introduced to us first in English, we had to write a haiku based on our concept statement. My concept statement was the feeling of being incompetent through the experience of flying. Then we transferred the project to digital media where we made background music and then recorded ourselves saying our poem. This was a really fun project to work on because I learned so much on how to work protools for the first time.

I am exploring the feeling of anxiety through the experience of waking up

My main motivation for this piece is to evoke a relatable and familiar feeling for the viewer without fully giving away the that aspect of it. The meaning of my creation was to portray the feeling of anxiety through the experience of having a daily routine. This piece reflects a major part of my personal experience with feeling trapped and angstful[a] when having to the same thing over and over again. For me personally as a person who takes refuge knowing there are a lot of unknown and undiscovered aspects of this world and myself as a person and find solace knowing that. But when it comes to a daily routine and my everyday life the fact that it’s sp anticipated on what I’m going to next makes me nervous for some mysterious reason. The objects in my photo represent normality trying to maintain composure. The two coffee cups are a symbol of an everyday thing people would take everyday as a source of energy to get through their boring days. But the thing that is significant about these two objects is how one cup of coffee is actually older than the other one which explains why their different shades . I shot the photos in natural light in a variety of different angles. My background was a black stove top to contrast the white cups. In Photoshop I put a cool filter to make the lighting look more sharp and less inviting. I also used the sponge and the burn tool to enhance the dripping on the side of the darker cup in front. I did this to show that the older cup was was the one cracking under the pressures of having to go to work everyday. I didn't have many challenges besides trying to get the correct angles while trying to get gloomy lighting over the cups without it being underexposed.

Here is my experimental music that I made in protools. This was a really tedious process due to the overwhelming amount of sound choices and music plug-ins. So many different genres I wanted to do by listening to each individual sound. But I stuck with a instrument trip with a lot of ambient sounds and for some reason it sounds like a song that would be played in a renaissance documentary.
